Downlink Transmission Concept with Diversity Gain in S-DMB System Including IMR

In this paper, we propose downlink transmission concept with diversity gain using IMR in S-DMB system. We do not regard IMRs as simply repeaters but consider as the antennas for STBC as one of transmit diversity methods. First, transmission scenarios for an application of STBC are represented. And then, we apply STBC in S-DMB system including IMR and compare the performance of the proposed IMR structure to conventional structure. Simulation results shows that the transmit diversity gain can definitely be achieved compared to conventional downlink transmission concept in S-DMB system.
