ON A COUNTEREXAMPLE IN THE THEORY O F POLYNOMIALS HAVING CONCENTRATION AT LOW DEGREES

Richard S. Varga, Igor E. Pritsker · Analysis · 1996

Abstract: It is shown here that a 1989 conjecture of Rigler, Trimble, and Varga in the theory of polynomials having concentration at low degrees, is not true in general, and coun-terexamples are explicitly derived here. What is intriguing is that these counterexamples produce only small deviations from the conjecture mentioned above.
