Development of Road Lifecycle Management System Based on New Information Technology

This paper describes the development and verification of a prototype of ROad Lifecycle Management System (ROLMS) that uses new information technologies including Web, Internet GIS (Geographic Information System) and groupware. The approach by the system seems not only to support the information sharing through lifecycle in road management, to facilitate the collaborative work among the multiple sides, but also to make it possible to carry out in-depth analyses that are beneficial to the management.
