Blocking algorithms for structured mesh generation

S. NOBLE, Jeffrey Quinn Cordova · 30th Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit · 1992

A theoretical and algorithmic framework for 3-D blocking has been developed based on novel generalizations of topological graph theory. Elements of this development include: the representation of surface blockings by graphs with rotation systems, the use of hypergraphs in 3-D blocking, interpretation of 3-D computational space as a weighted hypergraph with rotation system and the development of algorithms for constructing hypergraphs in the presence of geomeaic obstructions. Application of these algorithms to a submarine geometry are presented.
