Removing Ambiguity in 2D Video Imagery by Means of 3D Models
William T. Rhodes, Diego Pava · Digital Holography and Three-Dimensional Imaging · 2008
If moving objects in low-resolution 2D video imagery are placed in their 3D context, ambiguities concerning the identity of the objects can often be removed. We consider the case of detecting distant humans that subtend only tens of pixels in digital video. We also make observations on what appears to be a potential paradigm shift regarding what constitutes an image.
