Fieldbus and Its Current Topics.

The fieldbus is one of the new technologies on which the instrumentation system architecture toward the next decade will evolve. The standardized digital multi-drop field communication technology is expected to benefit its users from various aspects including interoperability in a multi-vendor environment and improved efficiency for plant operation and management. In 1994, the Fieldbus Foundation was founded for developing the common implementation technology for the fieldbus based on the evolving IEC/ISA international standard. The fieldbus products are expected to be introduced in the market and evaluated in real applications by the end of 1996.
