On the Functions of Eye Movements

Many studies have been devoted to the investigation of eye movements. Procedures for recording eye movements (11), as well as concrete clinical (6, 7), engineering (3), and developmental investigations (9), are many and varied. However, in spite of the fact that various investigators have accumulated an enormous quantity of material, the diverse functions played by eye movements in the solution of various problems by humans have not been sufficiently discussed.
