IP: Intelligent Perpheral for IN
Yeon Hee Seo, Go Bong Choi, Chi Han · International Symposium on Information Theory and its Applications · 1994
IN is an architectural concept which provides a functional approach to a network implementation independently of the underlying infrastructure. IP is one of IN systems that provides all end user interactions with the network through control over specialized resources. This paper provides an overview of IN and proposes a software architecture of IP. This architecture has flexibility to introduce new services or change existing services quickly without having to adapt other parts. An example of a specialized resource request processing is shown based on the software architecture. Finally, an IP prototype which can be used as a testbed to introduce new IN services is explained
