For evaluation of the characteristics of photovoltaic cells, the solar simulator is adjusted to 1 kW/m² utilizing a reference cell. We developed a Spectral Reference Cell method which can be used for adjustment of solar simulator intensity for testing photovoltaic cells without using specific reference cells. This method adjusts the intensity of a solar simulator with various spectral responsivities. We improved the measurement system and obtained a 2.6% Isc error for 9 different cells. We then expanded this method to non-linear photovoltaic cells by using DSR (Differential Spectral Responsivity) method. We were able to adjust the intensity within 3 % error.
