Optimal Nonlinear Filtering

Optimal nonlinear time invariant filters of three types, viz. the zero memory nonlinearity (ZMNL), the ZMNL followed by a non interacting linearity and the linear device followed by a ZMNL have been discussed on the basis of least mean squared error and maximum signal to noise ratio (matched filter). Defining equations have been derived and methods of solution presented in selected instances.
