A ROM Simulator for Microprogrammed Systems

RH Frater, DJ Skellern, C.K. Kwong, J.R. Maguire · 1978

The ROM simulator described uses a Motorola M6800 evaluation module with a two port memory and a small line printer. The memory appears at one port as 6800 microprocessor Read/Write memory and at the other it appears as 256 words of up to 128 bits per word of read only memory. The second port simulates the microprogram ROM. An editing program in the microprocessor allows program development. Each 8 bit byte of the 128 bit word can be printed in either octal or hexadecimal format.
