Aspects of the Design of a Parallel Computer Network Applicable to a DNC Machine

HR Abachi, RN Ibrahim · Sixth International Conference on Manufacturing Engineering: Manufacturing; a Global Perspective; Proceedings, The · 1995

This paper outlines the aspects of proposed architectural design of a parallel computer network for a Direct Numeric Control (DNC) machine. This architecture is based on a message passing system, where a host computer will control a number of slave processors. This provides point to point communication links between processors, as well as improvement on speed and reliability of the system. This paper also highlights the advantages and practical applications of the proposed architecture.
