Remote maintenance of Margento program modules

The following article presents the development and implementation of a specific update system for remote updating of Margento program modules. Due to the nature of Margento system, where the deployed terminals in most cases do not contain an active communication device, arose unique problems, which called for unique solutions. The focus is on developing the algorithms which enable remote updating procedures via the GSM speech channel modem installed in the user's mobile phone. Also other ways of updating procedures with faster communications channels like Ethernet and GPRS are presented, so are the benefits of the whole update system.
