Signal processing of tree-ring micro-density based on wavelet transform.

The tree-ring micro-density signal was analyzed in this article.To select optimum wavelet base which is suitable for multi-scale analytical method of micro-density,we obtained approximate signal by wavelet multiresolution analysis and through the analysis of reconstruction error and phase consistence.The result indicates that wavelet transform is good for both the recognition of tree-ring micro-density′s boundary point and the overall trend analysis.With high precision of reconstruction and low phase distribution,db5 wavelet is the optimum wave base for tree-ring micro-density wavelet transform.
