He showed what is possible if a vulnerability is disclosed in Cisco IOS. Source code from the Cisco IOS software has been stolen twice in recent years. Lynn's revelations make this theft all the more worrying. For more than a decade, the last week of July has brought thousands of security professionals to the hot Las Vegas sun. The BlackHat and DefCon security conferences are viewed by many as the premier events of the year, and invariably there are new announcements and presentations that change the face of network security for the next year.
