In this paper, we use simulation to evaluate the performance of a regulated internetworking packet switching system under various values of double priority offered load. The switch system under study uses buffers which have two regulators. One of them is called the Low Regulator and the other the High Regulator. The two regulators divide the queue into three segments in which different policies are applied. By handling the queue's two regulators we achieve traffic dynamic tuning in a backbone network by making a differentiated service. The results of this study can be used by network designers to configure their backbone networks optimally.
