Thanks to the advancement of computer hardware and software, nowadays commercial process simulation software are powerful tools for not only process engineers but also managers, to address their critical issues. This paper will outline the history of computer simulation in chemical engineering industry. It will also briefly explain process simulation procedure, particularly in HYSYS. In addition, today's computer simulation software market will be looked at.
