A Simulation Study of Cell-Search Techniques in 5G Millimeter-Wave Cellular Networks

5G is positioned to address the demands and business contexts of 2020 and beyond. Among the challenges that will be faced, a very relevant one is referred to the Cell-Search. In this thesis, we aim at studying this concept, comparing all the existing solutions, highlighting pros and cons and finding new valid approaches. One of the goal is to simulate the algorithms through the discrete-event network simulator NS-3, implementing different scenarios where Cell-Search procedures will be tested
