LinuxOne is IBM's next generation Linux only mainframe that was announced on August 17th. With up to 141 cores, 10TB memory and 350 dedicated I/O channels, typical distributed applications can be consolidated to run enterprise scale applications on a single machine. Several LinuxOne machines can be combined to provide web-scale performance with infrastructure that can replace an entire football field worth of commodity servers.
