Watermarking Hiding in Video Sequences

Alessandro Neri, Patrizio Campisi, Marco Carli, Elisa Drelie Gelasca · 2005

In this paper, a new methodology for embedding data in a video sequence is presented. In order to obtain the im-perceptibility of the embedded data it is of paramount im-portance to select proper frame regions which guarantee the data masking. The method we propose to imperceptively in-sert the watermarking, provides suitable spatial embedding locations determined by an importance map of the frame. In a given frame, the candidate areas for the embedding, are selected according to the motion rate: a feature which we believe relevant to human observers. The main idea is to embed the mark in areas characterized by very high or very low motion rate. The artifacts introduced by the embedding are less annoying. A subjective experiment has been per-formed to determine the two motion rates.
