Dretske observes that an essential component for the notion of 'to know' is information provision. Following Dretske, we discuss the meaning of information based on data embody information provision. We analyze four basic relationships between information and dada (i.e. four types of meaning) by using formal context, namely, fully matched, the first partly matched, the second partly matched and unmatched, and obtain their physical signification. Then we look at how data convey information content, and how the types of meaning relate to different concepts of knowledge.
