M. V. Ramakrishna, Suryansh Singh, A. Kotegar Karunakar · 2015

Scalable Video Coding is an extension to H.264 Advanced Video Coding, implements layered video coding methods. The removal of layers form a valid bitstream in layered video coding. This feature enables video streaming over wireless network environment. The parameters such as node mobility, type of routing protocols, communication distance, etc. plays major role on the quality of video communication. The process of video adaptation estimates the number scalable video level to be dropped and extractor extracts accordingly at Media Aware Network Elements considering the resource availability and terminal capabilities. The aim of this paper is to build the knowledge required for deciding the extraction points or scalable adaptation. In this paper, we have estimated the extraction points for streaming Scalable Video over the wireless network. This work considers node mobility, link bandwidth, and motion level of video as deciding parameters. The experimentation is carried on Exata Emulation and JSVM for generating the scalable video
