Silvia Bruti · CINECA IRIS Institutial research information system (University of Pisa) · 2004
The paper presents results of an investigation into paraphrase types in a corpus of biological English which consists of chapters drawn from biology textbooks published in the UK and the USA. By identifying the paraphrase type it is ascertained that implicit paraphrases are preferred, i.e. instances that are not introduced by paraphrase indicators.
