The LHC on-line model: design and implementation

During LHC commissioning and operation a good on-line optics model will be essential. This will be provided by the LHC On-line Model (OM) toolkit rst version of which has been developed and tested. This report gives an overview of the LHC on-line model design and functionality. It is also supposed to serve as a general introduction to the toolkit.
