An Error-control Scheme for (d,k) Constrained Sequences

Patrick O. Perry · International Symposium on Information Theory and its Applications · 1994

A method of providing error protection for (d,k) constrained sequences is examined. The cases of single error detection and single error correction are considered, where the single error is allowed to be a shift error or a symmetric error. Codes for single error detection and for single error correction are constructed by inserting parity blocks into the (d,k) constrained sequence. Bounds are considered on the length of the parity blocks for single error detection and for single error correction.
