For energy saving in WSN, data aggregation is applied widely. In the traditional data aggregation, data are always aggregated into one data without considering the information content. It means that, for example, in fire detection, a packet with the content of 80 degree and nine packets with the content of 30 degree will be aggregated into a packet with 35 degree in average, which leads the serious deviations from actual situation. To solve this problem, we propose an information criterion based data aggregation where data with high self information will be sent immediately and data with low self information will be aggregated at nodes. In this way, the algorithm loses less important data, as well as not to send any redundant data. (This technical report is not under review.)
