2D and 3D Image Analysis by Gaussian-Hermite Moments
Bo Yang, Tomas Suk, Mo Dai, Jan Flusser · Gate to Computer Science and Research · 2014
This chapter introduces 2D and 3D GaussianHermite moments and rotation invariants constructed from them. Thanks to their numerical stability, GaussianHermite moments provide better reconstruction and recognition power than the geometric and most of other orthogonal moments while keeping the simplicity of design of the invariants. This is illustrated by experiments on real 2D and 3D data. IntroductionAlthough moments have been used in many image analysis tasks and areas, probably their most important and most frequent application is in object recognition.
