The research paper is based on error analysis of digital speech bit patterns after compression. The technique used, drop. a number of 4 and 5 least significant bits from all bytes of the pcm coded speech files. These dropped bits are then randomly substituted from the bit patterns of their respective codebooks at the decoding end. For the substitution of 4 bits, codebook containing 2^4 = 16 bit patterns and for the substitution of 5 bits a codebook containing 2^5 = 32 bit patterns is used. Objective of this research is to analyze digital speech bit patterns of every byte, quality after compression with the cascaded approach. For that ratio of error free and error occurring bytes is also then observed.
