Speech Motor Control: A New Synthesis

The control of speech is a complex motor act possessing both learned and innate behaviors. Information from multiple areas of investigation will be reviewed and integrated into a new perspective emphasizing these aspects in addition to data supporting a simple heuristic for analyzing speech biomechanics.
