Online Social Networking sites have massively changed the way we communicate. Also it is influencing the way we think. These sites once thought as the simple way of keeping contact with friends, relatives and loved ones has become so powerful that it can trigger mass violence and protests that even can overthrow governments. Social media are now used to coordinate well planned criminal activity such as online fraud to recruiting new members to terrorist groups. So we can no longer ignore the discussions made on these media but actively monitor the discussions so that social media data can be used as a source of information about the crime that is going to happen or already happened. In this regard we would like to present a survey paper which summarizes various techniques used in order to detect online criminal behavior in the terms of cyber bullying and cyber radicalization. This survey provides good starting point for beginners’ who wish to do research in this field.
