The results of research for extending the possibilities of the method of filamentary modulation resulted in a new analysis of the mechanism of modulation and considerably increased modulation efficiency. Taking advantage of the features of the Modion system, new and useful transistorized amplifiers and voltage and current stabilizing circuits were developed, resulting in a very small, compact, and reliable automatic vacuum-gage potentiometer, with special models extending into the ultrahigh vacuum range.
