Measurement of R.F. Power in Coaxial Line Systems

The article commences by differentiating between absorption power meters and through-type instruments; thereafter it concentrates on the former method.The effect of mis-matching source and load is explained. A description of the design and construction of two types of power meters is given: (i) using a resistive load and thermocouple, and (ii) an instrument using a thermistor as the load.The article concludes with a short outline of calorimetric methods of measurement.
