UML sequence diagram manipulation in test case generation for web application function testing

This research aims at exploring the potential application of Unified Modelling Language to improve the test case generation for functional testing of Web application. The approach that is going to be proposed differs slightly from other current UMLbased approaches as it relies on the UML sequence diagram on deriving a more precise test case, thus simplifying the testing process. To analyze the viability of this approach, the generated test cases will be validated through its implementation with an existing Web application’s functional testing tool. In terms of recognizing the improvements and feasibility of the proposed approach towards functional testing in Web application, comparisons between this approach and other current testing approaches that utilize other UML diagrams will be explored.
