This master thesis demonstrates an approach for evaluating and ranking different implementations of network intrusion detection systems in cloud environments.The paper will attempt to find what the relevant aspects of different implementations is, and how to structure this information in a coherent way so they can be scored and compared.By focusing on the evaluation process when it comes to protecting cloud environments, the goal is to produce a tool that will give a use case specific recommendation of where to place the network intrusion detection system.iii A big thanks also goes to family, friends, and fellow classmates.Their help and support really motivated me through this period.
