Use of Dublin Core and XML for the Organization of Agricultural Information in the Web

This article presents how Dublin Core and XML technologies were used fororganizing information in the project AgencyBeef Cattle, whose purpose iscollecting, organizing and publishing in the internet information about the beefcattle supply chain. The result of this project will be a website whose contents areelectronic resources (publications web) related to the beef cattle supply chain.Theformats and types considered will be as varied as texts, images, sound, software,data, interactive, events, etc. This project aims at developing an infrastructure forcreation of electronic resources metadata, having as functionality: insertion;alteration; exclusion; and search to classified resources. It also approaches the needof developing appropriate tools for organization of information. XML language(eXtensible Markup Language) is used for structuring information contents, andthe Dublin Core standard for description of electronic resources. As obtained resultis presented the tool for metadata creation, which uses XML for structuring andstoring electronic.
