Details of the new measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, carried out at CERN, are presented and followed by a survey of other recent high precision tests of quantum electrodynamics. It is shown that the further refinement of experimental technique and theoretical calculation has left QED intact and in particular that the weight of evidence stands firmly against there being any sizeable modification of the Adler type, to the effect of vacuum polarization.
