Graphics Obtained Using Packages Based on R

Kunio Takezawa · 2012

Packages enable the production of more diverse graphs. A huge variety of R-based packages for drawing graphs are available. Each package has various functions for drawing graphs. The full use of these packages will satisfy R users when they obtain graphs that perfectly suit their need. Although this chapter treats a small fraction of the various functions of each package, the author expects that descriptions in the chapter will help make graphs obtained using R-based packages clearer. The package “gplots” enables the construction of various graphs such as graphs with plural coordinate axes, graphs with the averages, confidence intervals, and error bars, balloon plots, color samples, enhanced barplots, two-dimensional histograms, enhanced heatmaps, graphs to show the results of lowess (a smoothing method of nonparametric regression), and Venn diagrams. The package “scatterplot3d” draws three-dimensional graphs with various forms. Controlled Vocabulary Terms graphical model
