In this paper, we propose a network synchronization scheme to efficiently reduce timing jitter of mobile WiMAX (WiBro) system, particularly indoor network environment. The proposed scheme is basically based on the adaptive delta algorithm to consider both convergence rate and performance of jitter reduction. This jitter reduction scheme composed of the clipping followed by the adaptive delta algorithm which is proposed in [1]. In the first step of the proposed scheme, some of peak delays which are to cause a harmful influence to clock synchronization of mobile WiMAX network are clipped. In the second step, the proposed scheme utilizes the adaptive delta algorithm to effectively reduce timing jitter and convergence rate. Simulation results show that the proposed timing jitter reduction scheme with clipping can provide more jitter reduction and better convergence rate. The proposed scheme in this paper can be applied to the clock synchronization of mobile WiMAX network.
