Intel 8085 microprocessor is used to compute fast fourier transform for off-line processing. Software for floating point arithmetic is first developed for implementation in 8085 with an accuracy of 22 significant bits. This provides sufficient range to make it suitable for general purpose. The FFT program including floating point arithmetic subroutine requires only 1K ROM.
