Inferences with Higher Level Chain Sets

We have seen in sect. 6.3 that IF THEN questions 7.1 $$qu = IF\;A\;THEN\;{\text{C}}$$ cannot be answered by constructing the chain set representation over the ground universe {A, C} of the question as a whole because chain sets for IF THEN have no possibility row; and that such questions are answered on the basis of the separate chain sets for A and C respectively. Consequently we have not yet any method for answering a question qu’ which is a negation of an IT question 7.2 $$qu' = eg qu = NOT(IF{\text{ }}A{\text{ }}THEN{\text{ }}C)$$ .
