Techniques in Test Procedure Development for Validating RF Receiver Requirements

Benjamin J. Slocumb, George A Wright · 1994

Development of a quality test procedure for validating RF receiver performance requirements is a difficult task. Test resource scheduling and availability conflicts usually restrict test preparation. The logistical problems further the need for careful planning and evaluation of test conditions. Most receiver performance measures are interrelated, and the test engineer is often required to perform numerous analytical calculations to develop a sound test procedure. Inefficiencies and errors arise if the test engineer is not adept at the required analysis techniques. This paper describes a software package of integrated analysis tools for evaluating RF receiver performance. The availability of such a package would improve the reliability and timely preparation of test procedures, saving test range time and resources and manpower.
