This thesis is mainly studied the passive circuit for RFIC applications. Study theme is divided into three parts: The first part, 3.1 ~ 10.6 GHz band pass filter is designed for ultra-wideband (UWB). Mainly, a kind of band pass filter is designed by lumped device and implemented based on synthetic transmission lines (TLs). The filter has a compact area, low insertion loss in passband and there are three transmission zeros in the stopband. first work measured results show that the band pass filter has 3dB bandwidth range from 3.1 to 11.1 GHz,the low frequency transmission zero ?z1 = 1.1 GHz, the high frequency transmission zeros ??z2 = 15 GHz, and ??z3 = 27.6 GHz ,the minimum insertion loss of 1.89 dB, and group delay of 143±79.2 ps. and the second work measured results show that the band pass filter has 3dB bandwidth range from 3 to 12 GHz, the low frequency transmission zero ?z1 = 1.8 GHz, the high frequency transmission zeros ??z2 = 15.5 GHz, and ??z3 = 19.7 GHz ,the minimum insertion loss of 1.75 dB, and group delay of 115±66.3 ps. In the second part, we propose a Ka-band band pass filter in standard 0.13 um CMOS technology, measured results show that the band pass filter has 3dB bandwidth range from 25.3 to 38.7 GHz, the minimum insertion loss of 2.7 dB, and group delay of 31±9 ps. In the third part, A 60-GHz-band bandpass filter was implemented to demonstrate the proposed filter architecture and the developed MSL inductor structure. An insertion-loss of 2.55 dB was achieved at 62.5 GHz, and group delay of 18.55±3.25 ps.
