Quality Systems By Prototyping
M. Blackmail, M. E. Jeffreys · WIT transactions on information and communication technologies · 1970
This paper describes a methodology which evolved in the 1970's and 1980's for the development of commercial data processing systems on interactive minicomputers. It was then named Interactive Staged Enhancement (ISE) but it should be seen as a variant of what is now called Evolutionary Prototyping. It worked successfully in a commercial software house environment where meeting cost and time deadlines was essential and where maintainability and modifiability of finished systems was crucial. A description of ISE was first published in Jeffreys [1].
