Applications of digital bispectral analysis to nonlinear wave phenomena

Chp Ritz, EJ Powers, CK An · 1st IASTED International Symposium on Signal Processing and its Applications · 1987

As science and technology continue to advance, it is becoming inaeasingly important to develop the capability to both analyze and interpret time series data from nonlinear physical systems and to model such systems. Of particular interest and complexity are those systems that are distributed in both space and time so that the relevant physical phenomena can be viewed in terms of nonlinear wave or mode interactions. Examples of scientific and technological fields where such a viewpoint is pertinent include, but are not limited to: noise and turbulence phenomena in solids, fluids, and plasmas; electromagnetics, atmospheric physics, vibrational and modal analysis, oceanography, signature analysis (acoustic and electromagnetic), rocket engineering technology, offshore technology, and drag reduction.
