Modernizing of Control System in a Power Station

Johann Dardemann · 1992

Replacement of old control systems in power stations with a new system based on programmable logic controllers and workstations IPC's as operator stations instead of decentralized control systems. All field devices remain as they are because most of them have standard signals for interfacing a control system. An energy management system on line via Ethernet allows direct control of the plants as well as advisory control.
