Fixed points for generalized nonexpansive mappings

The aim of the present paper is to prove the existence of fixed points for generalized nonexpansive mappings in convex metric spaces.Such spaces, introduced by Takahashi, included Banach spaces and results of this paper generalize those of Dotson, Rhoades and others.
