Mobile Communications - a Hybrid Approach
EC Roberts · 1992
Mobile radio communications users in the present decade have a wide variety of needs, depending upon the business in which they are engaged, the tasks they are required to perform, and the distances and areas over which they are required to operate. No single currently available infrastructure fulfils all these needs, so that pressure to share resources over larger and differing fleet compositions suggests a hybrid communications network solution is required. One possible arrangement, capable of many different configurations, and which may be easily customised, is described. The solution utilises digital switching technology, and the UK DTI specified MPT1327 signalling protocol for control.
