Theoretical and Practical Basis for Self Learning Rule-based Sensors

MM Vaughan · 1989

A new approach to designing sensing interfaces is described, with industrial applications in mind. The analyzer makes use of heuristics and facts gathered by the human designer, and modeled to customise the analyzer to its working environment. Both hard wired and micro-processor systems are discussed, including a high level interface for configuring the latter. Installation considerations are given for discriminating coke and limestone at the ICI Soda Ash Plant in South Australia.
