Low-cost Telemetry from Remote Sites

A telemetry link employing a 1500 Hz phase-encoded audio carrier through a voice-shared radio-telephone channel is described. Implemented with microprocessors, significant hardware simplicity has been achieved by careful software design. The application of this system to an Alpine weather station is described and operating protocols of this and similar systems are discussed.
