NS8000 series: The next-generation switching systems

The dramatic changes taking place in NTT's business environment demand further efforts for strengthening competitiveness, advancing the implementation of fiber-optic access networks and developing multimedia communications services. To meet these requirements, the Network Service Systems Laboratories are spearheading the development of the NS8000 Series of next-generation switching systems. The NS8000 Series will play a key role in enhancing the economy and capabilities of existing networks and in establishing new infrastructure for multimedia services. This article presents an overview of the NS8000 Series.
